I've been reading all my life. I've been saving most of my books, well, as soon as I left home, and got out "on my own".
One reason for this, is because I couldn't afford to buy new books, and than just throw them away. When I left Dallas, the only thing I took, was my clothes and my books. (those filled up one of those "hitch to the car" u-hauls).
As you can see, from the Authors and Titles, my favorite genre' is Science Fiction and Fantasy. I read more than just that :) In fact, I have a few Romance, and Technical books. Lately I've been reading a lot of computer/design type of books. Trying to learn new things, and improve my computer graphic skills.
I have WAY to many books to list them all here. :) Really A LOT of books :) But when I get excited, well, I want to be able to 'talk' about my book. Or when I find a new author, I might express some feelings about this.
This is where I will do it. *G* Well, Here and in my Journal. After all. That's what a Journal is for. :)

Most Recent Book or Movie:
Sharon Lee and Steve Miller - My ALL time Favorite! I waited many years for these authors to finish their series. (Liad) They are GREAT writers, excellent story tellers. I bought one of their books, had them sign it :) this last one, I Dare I couldn't wait, who cares if they sign it :) I wanted the book NOW *LOL*
David Weber - His Honor Harrington books are great. I have to admit though, that a lot of the time, I will skip over his 'descriptions' of how something is made (i.e.-the ships), to get on with more of the "personal" issues of the characters. One of the few books, that I actually pay for Hardback.
I like most of his books, not just the Honor series. I've always wanted him to do a part 2 of his "Path of the Fury" book. Also would love to see another (more) of the Heirs in the Mutineers' Moon/The Armageddon Inheritance/Heirs of Empire series.
Lois McMaster Bujold - She is GREAT! :) I've been reading her for a long time, and I really enjoy the humor that she infects her characters with. Really like it that Miles is all grown up, and in love *LOL* :) and think I may have to buy Diplomatic Immunity in hard back (ouch! :)
Debra Doyle and James D. MacDonald - I'm sooooo glad that they didn't stop at "By Honor Betray'd". Love how they went on, and did a book on their (the Heroes) kids, and how they're going back, and doing a 'pre-equal' type of how the war even got started (and the professor)
Holly Lisle - Another Excellent Fantasy writer. A very Favorite is Minerva Wakes. What grabbed my attention, was on the front of the book there is a "quote"
3 rules govern life:
Never give up on your dreams.
Always stand up for what's right.
And
NEVER mess with the mommy.
Words to live by :)
Marion Zimmer Bradley -
Anne Lesley Groell - She was writing a very good series, and after the second book, has just disappeared. :( I'm still trying to find out what happen about the book/series, and what happen to her.
Melanie Rawn -
Jo Clayton - I think her book, Diadem of the Stars, is what actually turned me into a SciFi reader. She is one of my very favorite of all times.
Patricia McKillip - LOVE the Riddlemaster of Hed series!
C. J. Cherryh - Another long time favorite. The only ones that I've read, and did not particularly like, was the Ealdwood Series (Dreamstone, The Tree of Swords and Jewels). My favorite is the Mri Wars :) Surprised you? I know most say the Morgaine Cycle, and that is a fav, but I really like the Mri.
Sherwood Smith and Dave Trowbridge - YEAH! Found Dave Trowbridges blog!! (I LOVE how the "famous" are setting up their own blogs!) And there's going to be MORE in the world of the Exordium! (Plus there are links to people, who have started 'games', etc. Go Check it out :D (and write to tor! :)
Simon R. Green (Sharon Green) -
Catherine Asaro - Really like her Ruby Dynasty books. Usually a little "love" along with the space opera adventure.
Steven Brust - *G* assassin (hero?) and mini dragons called Jhereg (well, that's one of the names Vlad has for his "familiar" :). I really wish he'd do a few more with Cowboy Fengs Bar and Grill. *G* That's where the idea for the Chaotic Brew Tavern came from :)
Melisa Micheals - She has some fun books to read. Elves, Mystery, and Space Adventures. *G* Just about every thing to tweek your mind. :) Melisa News
