Eye Of Heaven - Majorie M. Liu

just as i thought. I knew, when I first heard that Majorie M. Liu was writing Blue Perrineau's story, of Ms Lui's paranormal romantic suspense universe, Dirk and Steele, that this was going to be a GREAT story, and one of my very favorite's. Maybe I had a little of that "extra sensory" stuff myself, or it could be because, since reading her very first (Tiger Eye, 2005) book about a group of paranormal, mutant, gifted (which ever adjective you would most like to use) detective's, I've been hooked on her universe of agents trying save humanity from evil.

In Eye Of Heaven Blue is after an organ peddler, a flesh and blood broker, who is not just powerful and rich, but who's family actually owns the bank. But Blue is seriously injured, and in his delirium, with his power, he also injures one of his best friends wives.

As he tries to re-cuperate, he gets the news that his estranged father has died.

Only things aren't what they seem. Not only is Blue's father not dead, but he finds out he has a brother. With his father blackmailing him, and guilt for the injury he caused his friends, Blue goes to Las Vegas, following a lead to find his brother. Not only does Blue find him, but he finds the love of his life. Iris McGillis.

Iris McGillis, circus performer, shapeshifter, orphan. But again, things aren't as them seem.

Not only must Blue reconcile the fact that he has a brother, but he must save Iris from the very people that he has been chasing, and people who he thought was family. Iris and Blue both, must face the lies, heartbreak and betrayal, of those they trusted and come to turns with who they are and what they want out of life for themselves.

The Red Heart Of Jade by majorie m. liu

YEA! I finally got my advance copy and finished reading this book, the third in an exciting series about paranormal people helping mankind and finding love.

If you have read either of the first to books in this series by ms. liu you'll know that Dean Campbell is an irreverent bad boy, who's always pushing everyone's buttons and panting after the women. Or at least, that's the impression you've gotten with the first 2 books.

Some times, things aren't always what they seem. And that's never been truer, then with this new story by Ms. Liu The Red Heart Of Jade

Dean is in Taipei, trying to find, and stop, a pyrotechnic serial killer, when things start spiraling out of control. Not only are his powers not able to locate the pyrotechnic, but he's seeing dead people. Specifically, the only women he's ever loved, and who died in his arms 20 years earlier.

Mirabelle Lee, professor, archaeologist, anthropologist, and her mentor have made an exciting discovery. Mummified bodies that seem to be over 4 thousand years old. What is even stranger, is that one of the bodies, seems to have a large piece of red jade, embedded in it's chest. Embedded, as in the skin has actually grown over the edges of the jade. To make things even more interesting, there seems to be 2 different groups of people, who do not want the discovery, well, discovered, and want her dead. When the only man she ever loved, arose from the dead to save her from being kidnapped, she knows that her life has changed forever.

An exciting story, that once I started reading, couldn't put down, where bad guys aren't always the worse guys, and good guys are definitely not friends. Where true love has actually with stood the sands of time, and sometimes, trust and faith are all you can base your decisions on.

Shadow Touch by Marjorie M. Liu

Technorati Tag:

I discovered Tiger's Eye and Ms Liu, through a recommendation from Christina Feehan, and I'm SO Glad that she mention the new author Marjorie M Liu and Tiger Eye, because Ms Liu become an instant "Favorite Author"

Shadow Touch continues this opinion. Catching how deep and disturbed Artur is in Tiger's Eye, I quickly grabbed Shadow Touch up, to find out his dark and desperate secrets. Dark and Desperate they are. You can not help but respect a man, that continually fights with nightmares that are always fresh in his mind, horrors that never leave him alone. The only solace that he has, his job with Dirk and Steele (and have you seen their web site!! It's FANTASTIC!! LOVE it!), and the friends, family that he has with them. Knowing that he doesn't have much time to live, and both thankful and disturbed at that knowledge (thankful, so that he can finally leave the pain behind, disturbed, because he knows that his powers are needed, and that he would be leaving friends that have become as family behind), he desperately try's to find a seral killer. Only to find that the killer is after him.

Scared and worried for his adopted family and the agency he's been accepted into, ready to accept his death, he meets Elena, and his whole life changes.

Elena, a small town farm girl, has always known she was different. She has accepted that about herself, with the help and love of her grandfather. Knowing that she is special, and knowing what would happen if any one else ever found out, she still must help people as she can. Volunteering at a hospital, she's able to help the cancer children and bring joy back into the lives of the parents. When she is abducted and taken prisoner, with no explanations from her jailers, she struggles with emotions and thoughts of how she can escape.

She is no laid back whimpy heroine. Elena is determine to stand up for herself, and take the consequences as much as she can. Except she can't stop from helping others.

And helping Artur was the smartest and most dangerous thing she has ever done.

Together Artur and Elena must escape the web of deceit and horror that is happening around them, taking a chance on companions they know nothing about, and facing Artur's past to reach a future they can have together.

Shadow Touch is the second book in what I'm sure is going to be a long and wonderful adventure of excitement, intrigue, and love that can be found, for those that think love is not for them.
