yeah

yeah!! FINALLY Gail has another ebook out. Thank Goodness, cause I've been dying for her 'style' of story (her's or one of sarah's cowboy stories). It's not a ghost unit story, (BUT one of those will be coming out in june!!! YEA!)

since i have to work the next 2 nights, i also got a cianna stones story, molding clay (i ab.so.lute.ly Loved ChasenAna...that was one of the CUTEST stories I had read in a while) so I'm sure that molding clay will give me that smile as i read :) Sometimes, a few giggles in with the sex, lust and suspense, makes me a happy reader.

I'm ashamed to say

that I'm reading, or rather, I'm trying to read Kinley MacGregor's Sword of Darkness. The sad thing is, it's a good book, I just can't seem to be able to "get into it".

and I just adore Sherrilyn Kenyon's writing. (kenyon is macgregor) The Dark-Hunter, Dream-Hunter books are some of my favorite. And the premise for the Lords of Avalon is great. (king author dies, but what happens to every one else after he died?)

I'm not sure, if it's because I'm anxiously waiting for some other books that are going to be coming out around march, or if it's something else.

I even have some hot yummy e-books from Ellora's Cave, and I haven't been able to get interested in them either. and they're also from 'fav' authors. So it has to be me, and not the books. Maybe it's time to re-read some favorite oldies. Maybe then I'll get over what ever it is that's got me hung up.

Of course, I've also been very involved with trying to get the domains back on line. I've almost got it to. gee el still needs work done on it, so does witchys net, and there's nothing for clan nevermore except a place holder, BUT this weekend, I actually got Offtilt's blog working. (I think I really like this new updatedwordpress that's come out. I'm having a lot of fun sitting things up.

*grin* of course, I won't be saying that, when I start designing for it. I remember the hassle of trying to design for wordpress, and it shouldn't be that hard! LOL oh well. Hopefully it will all come back to me as I play around with it. (which I won't be for now, NOW I have to finish up gee el, and at least put something besides a place holder, for Nevermore.

But with all that coding going through my head, you would think reading would help relieve the pressure. Except that my head is full of coding, and I can't seem to get it wrapped around the words of the story. mmmm, Maybe that is why I'm not enjoying what I'm reading. My brain is still wrapped around code?

oh. that is, it would be, If I Only Had A Brain!

aaahhhhahahahahahaha....

Kudo's to Jennifer on her review

of one of my very favorite e-books! I absolutely love Gail Faulkner's books, and this, her first in the Ghost Unit series is (so far) my very favorite of all.

I Just Finished Reading...: Full Ride by Gail Faulkner - SPOILERS

I'm having trouble

getting into this new book I'm reading. and I have NO idea why, since it's a book that I've been wanting since it came out. Perhaps, because my head is still with the previous book that I finished reading this weekend? Or with the were's that I read? *grin*

I finished reading Unleash the night, (I'll post review later) I was so upset with a character of the book, that I can't seem to get over it :) LOL guess that means that MsKenyon did her usual excellent job of writing :)

Have you all got your order in for Shadow Touch by Marjorie M Liu? Don't forget, it's coming out in just a couple of weeks! (Now THIS book is a GREAT READ!)

advice from Chris (nanowrimo)

this weeks newletter from nanowrimo, has advice meant just for me. (really) Chris says, Don't linger in the 20,000s.
and that's exactly what I've done. I've kind of been 'stuck'

and Chris also says, Abandon the quest for pretty sentences.
ain't that the truth. I realized that I'm doing to much "story" and not enough 'words'. Forget about doing story like, just get the damn words down.
:( problem is, I never did go back in 2003 to fix up "Now In Kansas Any More". /even though a few people wanted me to, but hey, they were friends and realitives, they don't count, LOL ok, THEY count, just not in critiquing a story)

So. have GOT to focus in just getting the damn words out. forget about everything else. /structure, spelling, etc/

November 1, 2005

oh good

it worked. I put up my second chapter of my NaNoWriMo, and when I click on the link (up there under my blog title, and on the side bar category) it takes you to Kansas Is Still Far Away, and starts with the first chapter (well, it starts with the test post, but after that, it goes by chapters)

I'm glad to know I don't have to worry about 'tech/coding' stuff. Especially since my fingers are hot with the story.

I've also been thinking, that since it looks like the story is going to be adult in nature, I may not be posting it here after all. *G* Then again, it's not like any one ever comes by here. (ok, wait! I take that back! Cheyenne McCray actually stopped by! (Twice in fact! but that's only because I visited her blog :)

LOL face it, I think she's been my only guest in over 6 months. :)

So, maybe I'll post the story here anyway.... my goodness, call me ms. wishy washy.

oh my!

I can't seem to type fast enough. I'm reading my nano as I type, and I just can't wait to get to the next part!

*G* and it turns out, that it's going to be an adult book after all. *G* I didn't think it would be, since the first one I was able to stop writing before I wrote any of the 'good stuff' :) But with Kansas is still far away, the words and sex just seem to flow out of my finger tips. *G* Must be all the yummy books I've been reading lately.

I don't think I'll let my mom read this one. *G* To embarrassed :)

Ok, just a little more, and I'll post chapter 2. (now This one's length is more like what it's suppose to be)

wheee hooo!

Well, I'm surprised at myself. My NaNoWriMo story has started. Two days ago, I didn't even know what I was going to write. But like last time I did nano, it seems to just be typing itself. (and I have NO idea what's going to happen, or where it's going to be going!)

Well, Ok, I do have an idea of what I want but who knows what's going to actually happen. :)

Ok, back to chapter 2. I want to get that done, and up, to see if my category hacks worked. (hate to have to stop thinking 'book' and start thinking 'coding' if things aren't doing what they're suppose to... meaning, everything in chapter order)

October 29, 2005

oh geeze

NaNoWriMo starts in just a couple of days, and I'm still sitting here going "duuuhhhhh????" I haven't re-read my old story (yet? am I going to, in the first place?) Have NO idea what I'm going to be writing, will it be a part 2? or will it be another story line all together?
GEEZE! I better get my brain in gear. (which has been the problem in the first place.. my brain is So Far OUT of gear, it's hard for me to concentrate on this)

I'm finding it difficult to think about NaNo, let alone the reality of my situation.
no. strike that, the reality of my situation is all I can think about.

I've been escaping, re-reading some of my favorite stories, and this is not good. just makes me want impossible-not real- things. I'm trying to control /fix/ the situation, but I can only do so much.
It's very ego demeaning.

Old favorite and a look see

well, I've been busy today.
did a , Sherrilyn Kenyon's Night Play hero.

Since I didn't have anything new to read, I decided to read an old favorite, . I love the hero and heroine of this story.

what's so nice about her, is that she's not some model thin "perfect" girl. Even though she IS Beautiful, she's a size 18. which is a nice change from most stories.

And VANE! yum yum! he may be the strongest 'were' in New Orleans (or rather Sentinel, but no one knows that....till near the end) he's also desperate for a 'soft caring' love. Which is how he feels, and what he gets, with Bride..

Just the thought of some tall, lean, yummy man, desperate to love me, well, as I said, YUM YUM!

LOL of course, ALL Ms Kenyon's are like that. In just a couple of months, Wren's story will be out. But it's the one after that, that I'm more anxious for. It's going to be based in Seattle, and Nick is going to be in it. Not as a main character, but passing throught the story itself.

*grin* and if you don't know who I'm talking about, then you need to get ALL of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter , so that you'll know all about Nick.

Any way. today, after staying up late last night, to finish Night Play, I decided to render for the .

When reading the story, I came across a scene with Simi in it, and since I have some new horns, and Thanksgiving is coming up, I might do a new Simi next. G she's one of my favorite characters to do /next to the dark hunters themselves/ in fact, since I'm going to have to do a 'thanksgiving fairy' I might no a 'thanksgiving demon' instead :)

Would be appropriate for , instead of a fairy. Of course, last years fairy looks yucky. maybe I'll do two this year. a demon AND a fairy.
grin. guess I'll just have to see how creative I'm feeling.Depends on Calypso.

oh yum!

oooo, Sherrilyn Kenyon's next book (after Wren's, that comes out in Dec) will be of Nick!!! and he isn't even a centry old yet! :)

I'm still here

Long time, mmmm? Well, it's not like I've quit reading. (I'm not dead), but what I've been reading. Adult Fiction.
*Grin*

I think I'm going to do the nanowrimo this year. Haven't decided if I'm going to do a whole new story, or if I'm going to continue with book 2 of "Not In Kansas"

I'll try to be a good girl, and post my feelings on some of the books that I've read. (A cute story called "The Kitchen Witch" and of course, Sherrilyn Kenyon's book, plus a few others)

Want to start getting this site ready for the NaNoWriMo.

a book meme

Methuselah's Daughter had this little book meme, and even though my reading is so 'different' then Methuselah's, I thought I'd answer this...

You're stuck inside Fahrenheit 451, which book do you want to be?
mmmm, there's so many books I wouldn't mind being. Probably one of my Lee-Miller Liaden universe books. Or Jory Strongs, Fallon Mates (adult only).

Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?
Oh yeah. quite a few of them :)

The last book you bought is:
mmm, bought a few at one time, Christine Feehans, Dark Secret (which I didn't enjoy as much as her others).

The last book you read:
Last night, re-read Jory Strongs Fallon Mates, Binding Krista.

What are you currently reading?
Getting ready to re-read, Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dance with the Devil. (waiting to pick up Laurell K Hamiltons, Stroke of Midnight... speaking of, I may re-read Seduced by Moonlight, to 'get in the mood')

Five books you would take to a desert island.
LOL well, Methuselah's Daughter is a smart girl, cause I don't know if I would have thought of the books she said she'd want. (but I'm with her). If I'm on the island, by my own wishes, then I guess I'd want my stand by's, Steve Miller and Sharon Lee books. Sherrilyn Kenyon's Books. Christine Feehan's 'GhostWalker' books. (yah, I know, that's WAY more then 5, but I'd mix and match any of them)

Who are you going to pass this stick to (3 persons) and why?
Probably no one. Oh wait... maybe Dp, because I know she enjoy's books also.
And I'll mention it to Domynoe, because she writes herself, and enjoys books.
But a 3rd person? *G* sad to say, I don't think I know any one else... OH! Wait! LOL PENDA! Yes, I'll pass this on to penda :)

March 17, 2005

ooops

oops. it seems my last entries have disappeared. Must be because of the server box exchange.

well. poop. that's what i get for not backing up my entries.

well. as I was saying/said.

I got the software program Poser, and I haven't been doing to much else, but play with that.

*G* well. That's what I was doing last fall. I did read, I just never wrote a review for any of the books.

Then at Christmas time, the beautiful lady that runs Penda's Diner surprised me, by being a "secret" santa to me. She sent me one of Christine Feehans books.

And I've been off and running ever since. Still have a few of her very first Dark series to get and read, but other wise, I've read them all, and can't WAIT till her new one comes out. (I really like the Ghostwalker books better)

but worse then that. From reading Christine Feehan, I discovered Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series.

Well baby. Fa get abut it! I'm gone. Those guys are so hot and yummy, I Want One For My Very Own!

LOL ok, ok, I wouldn't turn down a Carpathian or a Vampire Magi for that matter. But what red blooded (or is that Hot Blooded?) Women would?

Any way. I'll get back to writing reviews soon. *G* admittedly, I'm to busy reading at the moment, to stop and write :)

Have FUN and READ LOTS!

need a new book

I forgot that I didn't mention anything about the Jacqueline Lichtenberg book, Those of my Blood. I have to admit, that I was disappointed in it. Oh, it was a good book. But I was really hoping that the book had to do with the characters that were in Dreamspy. They weren't (even though, in Dreamspy, the characters in Those of my Blood, WERE mentioned).

I've also caught up with Merry, in Laurell K. Hamilton's Merry Gentry series. Also, read, Beast Master's Ark, by Andre Norton and Lyn McConchie, which was excellent! I remember reading the BeastMaster books, way back when *grin* in fact, I still have them, tried to get the boy to read them a few months ago.

With Beast Master's Ark, Storm is a man, and ready for love :D Really, the title of the book, isn't really about Storm, but about a ship that was turned into an Ark, mainly furnished with BeastMaster's animals, because they're the only one's left. (all the other genetic earth animals being lost when Earth was destroyed.)

But there's a young lady on the ark, that has inherited her own team, and it seems that she doesn't appreciate the Beast Masters, or Storm. *G* at least, not in the beginning.

I found it to be an excellent story, well written and moving right along with the story line.

I've also read the second book in The Wayfarere Redemption. Which was just as good as the first book. But I don't know if it's because I found out that there is going to be 6 in the story line (Book 3 - The StarMan is already out) or if it was the book itself, but I feel down and depressed.

I need a good book to read. Something fun and adventerous. wonder what I can find in my stack. I still have Rober Asprin (with Peter J. Heck) 's No Phule Like an Old Phule to read, but I haven't been in the mood to read that one either. In fact, I had to struggle to finish reading Phule Me Twice. I like those stories, too. I just don't know why it took me so long to finish reading them.

I know what I'm really in the mood to read. I'm wishing that Lee and Miller had the next book of The Tomorrow Log published. THAT's what I'm in the mood for.

oh well. guess I'll go look through my books. There's plenty of books that I haven't read in a long time. I'm sure I'll find something. Maybe I'll re-read (for the 100th time) Carpe Diem. or perhaps Plan B. well, with over 800 books, I'm sure I can scrounge something up. :)

February 26, 2004

more vamp's

I found a used book, that I've been looking for, for a very long time. years ago, I used to read Jacqueline Lichtenberg and Jean Lorrah's Sim-Gen series (where, even though they hated one another, one species could not live without the other) /it's an excellent series of books/.

Walking past a sales table one day, I found a book by the name of Dreamspy by Jacqueline Lichtenberg. Well, since I knew her name and writing, I picked it up for a few dollars, and of course, fell in love with the story.

It seems to be the second of a book called Those of my Bood. Which I could never find. Thanks to the used book selection of Amazon, I've now got it :)

and I Can't Wait To Start Reading! :) The nice thing is, that it's been so long since I've read Dreamspy, that I'll be able to read Those of my Blood, and then Dreamspy, one right after the other.

I've found that I can only read about 3 to 4 books of the same author/characters in a row, before I need a break. *G* At least, that's the way it seems with the mystery stories I've been reading (and haven't even put down that I've read! *note to self, don't forget to put the mystery titles on your list of read this year*.

One day I'll see if that's true with SciFi, and set down and read the D.Eddings series (Belgarion, Mallorian, etc), see how far I get, before I need to take a break and read something else. :)

Ok, I'm gone... I'm excited and am starting NOW to read.... and I'm such a good witchy, I've put on a crock pot of chili, so there will be food for everyone to eat tonight, and *I* don't have to stop reading!

(what do you mean, clean the house? I don't need to clean no stinkin' house! :D)

/well, as long as there isn't any company, i don't need to clean :)/

February 22, 2004

Hooked on Merry

oh my eyes. I stayed up till 3;30 am, reading Laurell K. Hamiltons Kiss of Shadows.. Ok, I'm hooked. I tried so hard, to stay away from this series. Why? *G* because I didn't want to get hooked on another series, where I couldn't wait for the paper backs, that I would be counting the days, before the NEXT book is out, and hell with paperback, I want hardback NOW.

too late.

thank goodness, there's already 3 of this series, that should give me some relief. (Being able to read 3 of them in a row.)

I've also discovered 2 more authors, that I'm going to try out, they both write 'vampire/love/sex' stories.

what is it with me this last month or 2? *G* just can't seem to get enough of the fae/vamp/HOT, stories :)

February 12, 2004

reading and reading and reading...

I've read so many books these last few weeks, and I can't seem to get myself to write a review of any of them.

(I need to write the review, right after I finish the story.... but trying to write something, at 1 am in the morning, is a little difficult :)

But soon, I'll have some comments made on a new author I've discovered (mystery), and a couple of books that I've read (and re-read).

January 7, 2004

i knew it

i knew that if i had to stop reading, that i would have problems getting back "into the book". :( and sure enough. all these blasted interruptions, kids, dinner, trying to fix my php error on my fav book page :( which still isn't fixed :( and i've lost the rhythm of the book.

it's starting to be a chore.

ok. *G* maybe it's because I was a bad girl yesterday, and going to the store for one thing, I came back with (Sunshine by Robin McKinley) another thing.

Now I love Robin McKinley's The Hero and the Crown and her The Blue Sword. (wish she'd do another one!)

What grabbed my attention, was what I read on the flap of the book...

"Her feet are already bleeding--if you like feet..." There are places in the world where darkness rules, where it's unwise to walk. Sunshine knew that. But there hadn't been any trouble out at the lake for years, and she needed a place to be alone for a while.

Unfortunately, she wasn't alone. She never heard them coming. Of course you don't, when they're vampires.

They took her clothes and sneakers. They dressed her in a long red gown. And they shackled her to the wall of an abandoned mansion--within easy reach of a figure stirring in the moonlight.

She knows that he is a vampire. She knows that she's to be his dinner, and that when he is finished with her, she will be dead. Yet, as dawn breaks, she finds that he has not attempted to harm her. And now it is he who needs her to help him survive the day...

Now is that not a GREAT hook?! So how could I still be in the mood to read Bourne's Ultimatum, when I have THIS book sitting here (ok, I put it on the shelf, under some other books, so that I wouldn't see it) /see what a good witchy I am! trying to resist temptation!/ :)

*G* ok, quit whining and do some work. have things to do, and have to get them done, so that i can finish B U, so that I can get to this new book! :D

January 6, 2004

Bourne Who?

Well, I'm so silly. It's not Bourne Identity, it's The Bourne ULTIMATUM! Silly me.

Obviously, I wasn't paying attention to the title. When Mom and I talked, and she found out I liked the movie, The Bourne Identity, she said, "Do you want to read the book?".

I don't think she had paid attention to the title either. :)

I'm also glad that I didn't read the book (any of them) before seeing the movie!

This is taking place many years later (Bourne is now 50). And I haven't found them all yet, but there are many more things that are different. (like people who died in the movie, not being dead in the book)

It's good. I can't wait to get back to it. I've read 220 pages, out of the 611. I'd be reading NOW, if I wasn't trying to tweek the site some.

:)
