CHAPTER 02
Something smelled wonderful. My stomach twisted and growled, and I realized that I was desperate to go to the bathroom.
Opening my eyes, I couldn’t remember where I was, or what had happened to me. It looked like a rock ceiling above me. Turning my head, I saw that the walls were rock also.
Then, with a crash through my head, I remembered everything. As the pain from my breaking heart crashed through me again, I heard Nobile in my head. ‘Sera?’ he asks anxiously. ‘Are you alright?’
Taking a deep breath, and pulling myself up into a setting position, I answer, ‘Yes Nobile, I just woke up, what time is it? And Where The Hell Is Miykael!?’ I asked astonished, and angered, that he wasn’t laying on the other side of the cave.
At that moment, Nobile comes rushing through the cave entrance, practically jumping on me, Miykael right behind him, Ney following them both, even Runs was sticking his head through the entranced. Sub-consciously I noticed that my snake, Sassy, who looked, and I wore, like a piece of jewelry, was curled around Runs ears.
Rubbing against me, and practically pushing me flat on my back again, I was so weak, Nobile says in my head, ‘You have been asleep for three days. We were very worried about you.’
Looking at Nobile in astonishment, I said “What?”
Miykael says to me, “So. You’ve finally decided to wake up? Come on then, I need to eat something, then we’ll get out of here. The woods are crawling with Smith’s men, still out there looking for me.”
In astonishment, I look up at him. “What’s going on?” glancing back down at Nobile, I say “What do you mean, I’ve been asleep for three days? What’s happened?”
Giving me a haughty look down his nose, Miykael says, “How do you know you’ve been asleep for three days?”
Turning my head back up to him, I start trying to get up off the floor. I really, REALLY had to go to the bathroom. Answering Miykael, as I staggered toward the cave entranced, and noting how he didn’t try to help me, “Nobile told me I’ve been asleep for three days, what’s been happening? Why was I asleep that long? I‘ll be right back, I‘ve got to GO.”
“Where are you going?!” Miykael hollers at me, as I go over to the side of the cave entrance, I knew the rabbit offal had been buried, behind some bushes, to relieve myself.
“Sassy” I directed my thoughts toward the snake “What’s been happening?” I figured that the she would be able to tell me faster then any one else.
‘Miykael woke up the next morning, he seems to be recovered, he tried to leave without you, but we would not go. Runs would not let him get any where near. So Miykael has been stuck here till you woke up.’
Grinning, I went back to the cave, thinking how that must have confused him. Miykael was standing outside of the entrance, looking at me with a quizzical expression on his face.
Geeze, I thought, what the hell happen to HIM? What happen to the weak emancipated man that I had to practically carry out of the prison? For standing before me, was a hunk of a hottie. Better looking then any magazine cover model. He sure as hell cleaned up good, I thought. He was as big as a WCW wrestler. Standing there, in nothing but a raggedy pair of pants, midnight colored hair hanging below his shoulders, legs spread, a scowl on his face, all I could think of was how he looked like the quintessential alpha male of all the erotic romance novels that I used to read.
‘Your energy gave him back his physical mass and health. Which is why you’ve been asleep for three days. Truthfully, I’m surprised that you’re up now’ hissed Sassy in my head. ‘Especially since he didn’t take very good care of you while you were sleeping. Nobile and Nye had feed you’
Ewww, I didn’t want to think about that, knowing how wolves fed their young when they first started eating meat.
“What did you just do?” Miykael asked the android. He couldn’t understand it. The animals acted like it was a real person. In fact, now that it was awake, it LOOKED like a living human. Maybe he was mistaken, and BORIS hadn’t been able to send an android down to rescue him. Maybe it had been Ardal and a girlfriend, that had found him? Damn, what a girl it was to. Black shining hair, curling down to her hips. Nicely rounded hips too. With a front just as nice, he thought, as he watched her walk back up to the cave.
“Excuse Me!” I huffed right back at him. If he was going to act like the alpha male in the books that I read, then I knew I was going to have trouble with him. That had been the nice thing about Ardal. Ardal had shared ‘bossiness’ with me. We knew each others strengths and weaknesses, and had shared responsibility of getting ourselves to Chugach Prison, and confidence enough in each other, that we knew we could each do our jobs. Again, I felt the pain of Ardal’s lost. I was never going to be free of it, I knew.
Looking at the android, Miykael couldn’t believe how human it looked, and sounded. She swayed right up to him,
